Overview

API tokens allow you to make changes to your JFrog account via REST API. Only Primary Admins have the permission to generate and use API tokens.

Create an API Token

To create an API token from your MyJFrog account:

  1. Log into MyJFrog and click on your profile icon on the top right hand corner.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select API Token.
  3. Click Generate Token. A new API token will appear in the text box.
  4. Click Copy to copy the token, and paste it in your script or elsewhere to save it.

The API token gives you powerful capabilities to edit aspects of your JFrog subscription, so it is crucial that you keep your REST API token secure.
The API token expires after one year.

Use an API Token

You can use the API token to manage your account's IP Allow lists in bulk. For more information, see MyJFrog Portal REST APIs.

You can also update the IP Allow List manually using the MyJFrog Cloud Portal. For more information, see Configure the IP/CIDR Allow List.

Regenerating an API Token

Regenerating a token before the previous token's expiration causes the old token to expire, and all features using the token to stop working.

To regenerate a token, click Regenerate Token in the API Token page.
