Overview

JFrog Mission Control is designed to be your single access point for managing your services.

Each service managed by Mission Control must be contained within a site. As part of the getting started, you added your initial Artifactory service in the Mission Control onboarding wizard and then proceed to add the remaining services directly in the Services section.

When upgrading to Mission Control 3.0, any Artifactory services already managed by your current version of Mission Control will be assigned to new Sites that will be created according to the location of your Artifactory service. For example, an Artifactory service with location San Francisco, will be assigned to a new site called San Francisco.

All services without a location will be added to the "Default" site.

The Enterprise and Enterprise+ licenses support these services:

In addition to the above service types, Enterprise+ license provides support for:

Viewing Service Details and Trends

The following views are available on the service level.

Viewing Service Details

Mission Control provides detailed information for each of the services depending on the service type.

To access the Details page for a specific service, select the Service Name link on the Services page.

For more information on the specific details for each service, see the dedicated service page.

Viewing Service Trends

Viewing service trends requires an Enterprise+ license.

From Mission Control version 3.2, a dedicated Trends page has been added to each JFrog service and has replaced the Graphs feature.  In addition to the detailed information on the service displayed in the Details page, the Trends page displays a set of graphs and data related to storage and usage based on historical data collected and stored in Mission Control. Note that data is collected according to the collection frequency for each service Mission Control manages.

Note that the data used to generate the Trends page is collected with different frequency for each service managed by JFrog Mission Control. For details, please refer to Collection Frequency. The collection frequency can be set by using the API to adjust the CRON settings.

Trends Dashboard

The Trends Dashboard displays data for the time range and filters set in 3 separate panes:

  • Tracked Parameters: Each service displays different trends according to the parameters relevant to the service. For example, the Trends page for the Edge service displays trends for Distribution or Storage Utilization. For more information, see the individual JFrog service sections to view the parameters that are tracked.

The bottom pane is only available only when there is more than one parameter tracked for the selected service.

  • Details: Selecting a parameter from the lower pane, displays the data according to the selected filter.
Filters

You can apply these global filters to view different trends:

  • Time range: Allows you to set the time period. You can select a predefined time period: Last week, Last month, Last quarter, Last year. You can also set a custom time range and select any period of time during which data was collected.
  • Status: Allows you to filter according to status: All Status, Failed and Completed.
Detailed Data Pane

Selecting a data point on the trend graph in the main pane opens a right pane displaying detailed information on the trend for the specific point in time.

Adding Services

Once you have created your sites, you can add services to them according to their geographical locations.

Before adding your services:

From Mission Control version 3.5, you can upload self signed certificates to communicate with SSL enabled services, using the trusted certificate REST API. Certificates will automatically be propagated to all microservices.

To add a service click Add Service from the Header or the Services module.

Fill in the service details and click Test Connectivity to check your authorization.

JFrog Mission Control will validate the service and connect to it.
