'Failed to export metadata' backup error when npm repo contains package with description containing unicode string \u001b

    Details

    • Environment:

      Node.js version v8.11.4.

      Description

After creating an npm repository, create a npm package using 'npm init --force', edit description in package.json and add the string \u001b. Eg: "description": "This Unicode character \u001b gives backup error 'Failed to export metadata for ...", then deploy the package to the npm repo on Artifactory.

The next Artifactory backup has an error like this: Failed to export metadata for '<repoName>:<packagePath>/<packageName>.tgz'.

Tried another Unicode character like "\u0101" and the backup doesn't give the error.
