Authentication for remote repository using PAT (Personal Access Token)

    XMLWordPrintable

    Details

      Description

      Background

Artifactory currently supports authenticating to a remote repository using: basic authentication with a user name and password or a certificate (see both under the remote repository Advanced settings).

There are certain remote repositories (e.g. GitHub, Azure) moving to using PAT (Personal Access Token) for authentication.

With support for PAT, the user will enter the PAT created in GitHub / Azure (for example), put it in the Artifactory remote repository settings so the authentication against the remote server will be using this token.

      Requirements

      1. Admin users will be able to configure an authentication token in the remote repository settings
        1. It will be supported from both REST API and UI (the Advanced tab in remote settings)
        2. Support for remote repository from any package type
