Support Ticket Ref: 176707
What: We would like to request a feature that allows to get a count of the number of times a given docker image was downloaded - as a whole.
This count should be based on the number of downloads according to the image directory, and shouldn't consider individual layers.
Why: According to JFrog support, based on our use case, this feature not supported:
Usually, when pulling a Docker image, the manifest.json will be pulled from the Artifactory instance, therefore, locating the downloads of a manifest.json, which is associated with the Docker image should give you the number of times the image was downloaded.
However, in case your use case is different here and you need to see the downloads of the image according to the image directory, for example, the "nginx" image:
This will not be possible, as the "nginx" and "sha2563f13b4376446cf92b0cb9a5c46ba75d57c41f627c4edb8b635fa47386ea29e20" are considered to be directories, which contains all the artifacts within them (the actual layers and manifest.json).
As this is not possible, you are more than welcome to create an improvement request for this.
Thanks for considering this feature!
