Status: Resolved
Project: Artifactory Binary Repository

Currently we have env variables for configuring the Artifactory tomcat port or max tomcat threads or any additional properties to the tomcat connector. But there is no env variable that can be used to add a new tomcat connector to the server.xml.

The additional tomcat connector is useful in cases where a user wants to configure SSL on the tomcat.

Need to add the new variable: SERVER_XML_EXTRA_CONNECTOR to  https://www.jfrog.com/confluence/display/RTF/Installing+with+Docker#InstallingwithDocker-TomcatServer.xml

The description should be: "Add another connector to Tomcat. For example to support SSL" (add link to example if exists)

To test this, do the following

  1. Create SSL key and certificate
    $ mkdir ssl
    $ openssl req -newkey rsa:2048 -nodes -keyout ssl/private.key -x509 -days 365 -out ssl/root.crt
  2. Start docker with the following command line:
    $ docker run --rm -e SERVER_XML_EXTRA_CONNECTOR='<Connector port="8443" scheme="https" secure="true" SSLEnabled="true" SSLCertificateFile="/opt/ssl/root.crt" SSLCertificateKeyFile="/opt/ssl/private.key" SSLProtocol="TLSv1" />' -p 8443:8443 -p 8081:8081 -v $(pwd)/ssl:/opt/ssl docker.jfrog.io/jfrog/artifactory-oss:VERSION
  3. Browse to https://localhost:8443 (you will need to proceed to the untrusted site as this is a self generated key + certificate)
