How or why do I disable /repo?

We discourage referencing /repo from within any virtual repository or build as /repo is an aggregation of every repository in your Artifactory installation. Instead, create virtual repositories that contain only the repositories that a specific project/team requires to resolve dependencies.

Using /repo from your builds can cause issues with resolution order, permissions, performance and timeouts due to the full aggregation of all repositories in Artifactory. Additionally, the /repo repository is not configurable or changeable.

/repo is disabled by default now, but if it is enabled for some reason, to disable the /repo virtual repository entirely, edit $ARTIFACTORY_HOME/etc/artifactory.system.properties and add/modify the property artifactory.repo.global.disabled=true. This requires a restart of Artifactory to take effect and will also require that you update your builds to reference a different repository.
