How to fix erroneous behavior with Crowd authentication (in Artifactory log, it shows, ‘Logging out crowd user without a valid token’)

With Artifactory Crowd integration, you may see that you can login to Artifactory using Crowd credentials, but fails to access Artifactory pages correctly.

In the artifactory.log, you will see an error: “[INFO ] (o.a.a.s.CrowdHttpAuthenticator:199) – Logging out crowd user without a valid token

Or, if you enable additional logger below at $ARTIFACTORY_HOME/etc/logback.xml, you will see logs following the logger.

<logger name=”org.artifactory.addon”>

        <level value=”debug”/>

</logger>

<logger name=”org.artifactory.security”>

        <level value=”debug”/>

</logger>

[DEBUG] (o.a.a.s.ArtifactoryCrowdClientImpl:143) – No valid Crowd SSO token, found: null

We observed that this error is see when Artifactory’s hostname (e.g. yoursite.artifactoryonlie.com) is not entered correctly or used IP address instead for Crowd’s Remote Address (click on the link for more details). Please ensure that your Artifactory hostname is entered instead of an IP address.
