Why am I getting the error “Could not create file system item Parent must be a folder” when deleting a directory?

This can happen when attempting to delete a directory if the trash-can contains a file with the folder name you are trying to delete. For this to happen the repositories and paths of the deleted file and directory have to match. For example, if repository general had a file foo, forming general:foo and this was deleted, it would result in this trash-can entry:

If a directory with the name foo was then created under the general repository, and you attempted to delete it, you would get this error:

To address this, you can:

1. Remove the entry from the trash-can

2. Move the directory before deleting it
