Why are my tar.gz files downloading in an unzipped format?

If your tar.gz files are downloading in a format other than zipped, the source is likely (improperly) sending the .tar.gz files with a header option (Accept-Encoding: gzip). This can be worked around by adding the following attribute: “artifactory.http.acceptEncoding.gzip=false” to $ARTIFACTORY_HOME/etc/artifactory.system.properties which will require a restart of the Artifactory server. This will globally ignore that header option.
